Important lessons

  • Please check the visa requirements and always make sure your passport is valid at least 6 months on your return. We learnt this the hard way on our first trip to Bali.
  • Pack your essentials, medication, phone, chargers, swimwear and clothing for the first day in your handbagage. From experience I can tell you that it is awful to travel with children to a sunny destination without swimwear because the airline lost your luggage.
  • Always wear your comfort clothes when travelling and bring warm socks along.
  • Check the electricity standards and bring international adapters along.

And only bring the things you really need as you are the one to carry the bags!
